I had this issue with my 4th gen bush wagon. For some reason I think I am a submarine and cannot stay out of the water. My OBD port was not communicating and my 4runner would turn over but not start. I also had some lights on the dash. Swapping out the computer fixed everything.

For anyone without a trail edition: I've used factory plugs to plug into the wheel sensor above the front strut with an inline switch. Also easy to disconnect and remove.

I just bought one that the guy thought had an engine issue. It was throwing all kinds of codes. He didn’t torque the plugs properly. Runs mint now. It appears you only pulled one plug but I would check that it’s sealed. Or you ruined your maf sensor.

I used a couple seats with blown bags. I just cut out the bags and had an upholstery shop sew up the seats for 20$ each

Ok. Good to know. It seemed very odd to me. So many things are interchangeable. I’ll check out the motor. Maybe the seat has a short. Like I said. Fully functional. Very good to know. I’ll put some more time in and check back

I didn’t look at any wiring diagrams I just decided to abort the cloth and keep leather. The plugs are the same and the seat functions properly so I would suggest it’s a different pin configuration

Finally got a chance to spend some more time. I don’t consider myself a rookie just play one in real life. After changing the computer and relays I went back and started pulling fuses for the computer. Sure enough it was the 10 amp computer fuse under the dash. So I decided to swap the seat...

I tried this. Replaced 06 limited leather with 06 sport cloth. Both seats functioned however caused many electrical issues I'm still trying to sort out. I gave a nice set of 06 sport cloth seats for sale now. Ha. Put the leather back in and still have problems
