Changed seats and fried something - any ideas?

Hey. It's been a while. Hoping for some help please.

I installed 06 4runner sport seats into my 06 limited 4runner. All functions worked but I fried something. I have since reinstalled the leather however here is a list of what does not work:
Speedometer
All power windows
Sunroof
Auto lights
Air suspension

Abs and dac lights are on on the dash. When I press the brake pedal the speedometer works and the cel, vsc, trac control lights come on. The dac light goes out.

I have power everywhere in the fuse panels. I have changed all the relays etc in the fuse panels.

Any ideas would be great.

Did you disconnect the battery before switching seats, if not that could of cause the problem?

That being said have you tried disconnecting the battery to reset the ECM?
 
I had something like that once.

But it was just that the speedo stopped, and had VSC and TRAC lights on too.

I did a zero point recalibration after hard resetting the ECU by leaving the battery disconnected for a few hours.



It could be a fuse, or a fusible link also, or that you fried a component. Never say die! You need to exhaust these options before you get to the point of thinking it is a burned out component because that can get expensive.

Check fuses first, then reset the ecu and do that Zero Point Calibration.

Edit: just saw you checked fuses and relays. Dude, you're doing what you need to.

I think then just reset the ecu and do that Zero Point Calibration. When I had this problem, the more I think about it, Toyotas either didn't have fusible links or it's such a rare problem that I didn't even check for it. Good luck!

Ok. Yup. I did the ecm reset. I didn't do the zero point because the vsc etc lights were only coming on when the brake pedal was on. I did not disconnect the battery before I swapped seats however both sport seats and the leather stock seats were functional.

UPDATE. I have done the zero point calibration and reset the computer again. Still no change.
 
So I had a chance to inspect my fuse panel. Everything looks fine as far as the circuit board goes.
Any ideas of anything that controls windows, sunroof, brake switch, dac, dash warning light, speedometer, auto headlights, defrost? Of course defrost is likely because the rear window isn’t working.
Either way. Anyone? Lots of experts on here

Finally got a chance to spend some more time. I don’t consider myself a rookie just play one in real life. After changing the computer and relays I went back and started pulling fuses for the computer. Sure enough it was the 10 amp computer fuse under the dash.

So I decided to swap the seat back in to try again. The same year drivers side sport seat blew the fuse again in my limited. Hopefully that helps someone before they spend money on seats like I did.
 
Does the sport use

a different amp fuse for that seat? or are the pins in the plug connectors different?
 
I didn’t look at any wiring diagrams I just decided to abort the cloth and keep leather. The plugs are the same and the seat functions properly so I would suggest it’s a different pin configuration
 
I traded my seats from an 07 to an 08. I didn’t have any issues. By chance did you disconnect the battery before pulling connections?
 
Ok. Good to know. It seemed very odd to me. So many things are interchangeable. I’ll check out the motor. Maybe the seat has a short. Like I said. Fully functional. Very good to know. I’ll put some more time in and check back
