Just asked him and he said they were on the crossbars, but he also said it was a smaller tent and he had to upgrade the rack when he bought a bigger tent
My friend’s got a tepui on top of his with just the stock rails and crossbars. Hasn’t had a problem with it.

From the spots in the pic you posted it’s about 2.5 inches in the front and just under 3 at the back.
I’ve been looking at the nashfabco ladder.
NashFabCo Ladder Review & Step-By-Step Install on 5th Gen 4Runner
My friend found a gobi off of OfferUp because he got tired of waiting for the one he ordered from gobi. It is a nice ladder though and they’re a well known brand. Definitely a good...
I didn’t know about this so thanks for bringing it up. I’m still reading up on the whole process of removing the xreas but at least I have time with the back order.
Thank you!! I’m still looking around for the right way to install these so I’ll run a search for your posts and hopefully find them. At worst if I don’t think it’s something I can do I can take it down to one of the Toyota dealerships in the state that I know has installed lifts on limiteds.
Honestly all the options and opinions on them kind of made my head spin so I stuck with the kits I was able to drive personally, which were only a few, and these bilstein’s worked best for what I’d use them for and the price.
Finally pulled the trigger on a lift kit, back ordered but one step closer. Has anybody regretted getting rid of the xreas?
Had my limited for about a year and a half.
