Thanks Crutchy, is there just one bolt holding the distributor on? I couldn't get the distributor out maybe because the little gear slid down and the big gear is stopping it from sliding out, I was thinking maybe I would have to take the big gear off, is that a counter threaded bolt? any advice...

Hi everyone, I think the same thing happened to me today. What is the top cover you took off, is that the valve cover? Mine is an 89 4 cylinder so it may be different. There's no spark so I took distributor cap off and It's not spinning, how can I tell if it's chain or distributor?
