    Nuked Beavers Half Door Build

The door opens by pushing the flush wooden doweling down. It sits inside a 1.5" tube.

    What next??

Install a hidden kill switch somewhere so it wont get stolen. That's definitely a great upgrade!

    Nuked Beavers Half Door Build

I picked up a set of clean doors for $40 of CL and could pass up the chance to cut the shit out of them. I'll post some pictures of my half door build as I go. I'm using 16ga steel for the inner panels and top cap since i had a sheet of it laying around in the shop.

    Rear Window!

bad switch I had the same issue on my 87. It ended up the console switch was bad. With a bad switch, the key will be inoperable, at least in the 1st gens.

    Stretch's 87 4Runner - Easy E

I had the same problem, and it was actually 2 things combined. My TPS was bad (verified by checking using the 4crawler write-up) and my intake manifold gasket was leaking. If I was you I would start by checking the TPS.

Where is the most common failure point, does it shear off near the third member or near the press fit bearing?

    Rear Axle Failure Question

I was thinking of carrying a spare rear axle as part of the parts I lug around but was wondering if it is necessary. If the rear axle breaks can you simply remove the inner broken shaft from the carrier and continue to drive, or will the press fit bearing not be able to hold the stress and the...

Cig lighter blew, then radio and clock?

You probably have a wire grounding out. I thought I had something similar happen, but it ended up one of the kids shoved a penny in the cig lighter and I only figured it out after I tore the whole dash apart.

    Couple more weird problems

You may want to start by replacing your fuel filter that is located in the engine bay and the sock filter located in the tank. It sounds like its a fuel delivery problem, but that's just a guess. Replacing those items is a good maintenance precaution anyways.

    thinking of cutting the top

I cut my extra top up a couple of months ago and added canvas for a removable top and removable clear vinyl windows. Check out the thread here http://www.toyota-4runner.org/classic-t4rs/175865-custom-rag-top-soft-top.html#post1775051 The best part is I can still use the rear window. This...

Custom Rag top / soft top

I live in western Washington, and it doesn't rain here, so I'm not sure if its waterproof. It's only been on for the last month and it hasn't rained while I'm out. I would guess that it is probably pretty water tight but might drip a little. I might have to spray it down with the sprinkler but...

    Rear Brake Job???

Poor rear braking can also be due to a bad LSPV as well as improperly adjusted rear pads. Make sure your brake auto adjuster is properly cleaned up and not rusted frozen so that it will ratchet allowing the pads to wear evenly. If your pad thickness is not the same on the upper vs. lower portion...
