Looks like I spoke too soon. Over the past few days the cooling capacity of the A/C has gone down. The fluid in the sight glass is a dark brown color but clear with no bubbles. Looks like the expansion valve was indeed the culprit. Replaced it and recharged the refridgerant, all is well now. :)

One of the controllers Advance sells looks like it includes a temp sensor. Is there an unused port in the radiator or thermostat housing that would be a convenient place to add this sensor, or do I need to rig something? Thanks.

Thanks. I took it to my friend's and we narrowed it down to the expansion valve. We think there's some blockage there because the sight glass doesn't show much movement and the low side line sometimes pulls a vacuum. I got the valve from Advance and will be putting it in shortly. We'll see how...
