I talked to my mechanic and he says he uses only original factory parts.

The guy who is rebuilding it said he would put a two year warranty on his work

She has 267,000 miles. $1800 top end or $3000 total rebuild.

I blew a head gasket and I'm planning to have it rebuilt. Is there anything else I should have the mechanic check or improve while he's that deep.
