Yet another request for tire recommendations

I agree that the Michelin’s LTXs are very boring looking tires but their rain, ice, light snow, comfort, and road performance is SUPERIOR to any AT tire I have ever used (BfGoodrich KOs and KO2s/Nittos/Coopers). I am a self admitting Michelin fanboy but I have the driving experience to back up...

Question: Rolling backwards in drive noise?

I almost had a heart attack the first time cause I thought the same thing... I was parked on a hill with a trailer with ATVs. It felt like the ass end of the truck was hopping and having the trailer attached makes it sound ten times worse.

    Eibach Pro-truck lift

No I realize that the kit comes with coil springs but on the previous page someone mentioned the difference between Bilstein and Eibach shock ride quality and what the different vendors are stating. But I dont want any front lift to be over an inch meaning I only want a little factory rake...

    Eibach Pro-truck lift

I have been extensively researching better suspension for months and what Toytec is saying does seem to be the case.. I have narrowed it down to Dobinsons or Eibach. After multiple calls to Eibach and various other sources it does seem that Eibach shocks will provide a better on road ride...

    TRD / SR5 capability comparison?

Honestly, there has been many good points brought up... 1. With all things being equal a TRD Offroad will is without any doubts be better for off-roading than the SR5 due to the rear locker...there really is no argument to be had here. 2. Driver experience DOES play a huge factor in...

Dobinsons 5th Gen T4R Suspension options - from Exit Offroad

Mike you are a gentle and a scholar! Thanks for that info and I am sure the hookers will appreciate it...:lmao: Is it possible to swap the front shock out with the 574 strut to level it out if I decide to use the factory coils? I don't do any offroading.

Dobinsons 5th Gen T4R Suspension options - from Exit Offroad

Thank you Rack and ScottR for your replies! Both of your trucks look great with stock tires and some lift. I don't carry much stuff in the back (no 3rd row) until my wife and I go on road trips with our 4 and 2 year old. I am assuming I would get a little more lift in the rear than you Rack...

Dobinsons 5th Gen T4R Suspension options - from Exit Offroad

I told myself a million times that I would like to keep my truck as stock as possible but I keep hearing great reviews from owners running Dobinson's coil and shocks together. Just want a small lift with some better shocks that can handle rough roads with less of a floating feeling (2017 SR5-no...

    KO2 no traction -Scary!

I have found that especially on SUVs and Pickups the smaller the sidewall height (IE larger rims) the worst they are in the rain and snow. I also found this to be true in cars as well. But I really don’t know why... Larger rims do look better but the larger you go the less traction it gives...

    KO2 no traction -Scary!

I have have run the KO’s and Rugged Terrains and Trails are various Tacoma’s and my 1st and 3rd gen 4Runner. They KOs were especially great in the deeper snow but I found Bfgoodrich tires in general seemed to use a hard rubber compound which lead me to get wheel spin with every model on all my...

    Advice Needed Please on 4Runner

As a STOCK daily driver in an urban environment, the 4Runner will honestly be okay at best. I commute to an urban city everyday and your mpgs take a big hit when sitting in traffic. I average 19 with a small leveling kit and stock sized Michelin LTX Defenders. And I drive very close to posted...

Dobinsons 5th Gen T4R Suspension options - from Exit Offroad

Thanks buddy...good to hear! I am not really looking to change out my coils I just want to raise the front end more. The 5th gen 4Runner has too much rack. I had a second gen Tacoma and I put a 1/4 spacer (1/2 lift) with Firestone airbags (1/2 lift) with 265/70r17 and the truck looked great...

    New Tires Recommendations Highway

Over the years I have owned all types of All Terrain tires but have alway ended up going back to the Michelin LTX M/S and recently the new Defender. I drive about 20k a year, tow a trailer every few months, and been down plenty of hunting trails...me personally I have never needed anything...

Dobinsons 5th Gen T4R Suspension options - from Exit Offroad

Excellent thank you...ultimately I have to play around with a jack to see what she'll look like. And yes I have no intentions to ever go with a E rated tire. The Michelin LTX's have handled everything I do with my truck.
