Thanks JayRolla, yep the plugs are dual electrode NGKs and NGK(TE66) wires. I haven't pulled em yet but had hoped, being new, they were ok. New doesn't necessarily mean anything though. I need to pull/inspect em.

houndrunner, I bet you get by with a valve cover gasket replacement and steering rack bushings - two common issues with a 'runner of that mileage. Both are reasonably inexpensive repairs. Good Luck with the new 4runner!

Given your symptoms, I'd replace the cap with an OEM. The gas cap is a sensitive part and, in my recent experience, aftermarket caps don't cut the mustard. Good Luck

Could be any number of things but a dirty fuel filter or leaky vacuum lines comes to mind. Good Luck.
