Seeking Wisdom/Advice

To begin, I have searched the site for information but have had only limited luck as my predicament has been hard to describe, let alone "search". I thought I would describe my experience and see if any folks more knowledgeable might be willing to add their 2 cents.
My 4runner is a 2001, v6 auto with 126,000 miles. It has a B&M cooler bypassing the radiators cooler, NGK plugs and wires w/ around 10k mikes on them and up to date on air, oil filters, pcv. Other than that, stock.
A month ago while driving, my truck suddenly experienced choppy acceleration and eventually stopped responding to the gas pedal. Stalled dead in the road. After a rest, I was able to restart and drive home. No CEL and according to Auto Zone, no stored codes. I promptly replaced the fuel filter, cleaned the MAF and throttle body and found no bad vacuum hoses. Ran a couple cans of sea foam thru it with fill ups. I still feel a hesitation/miss in it under load. It feels like a water in the gas kinda thing. A flutter, if you will. It seems to run okay but I cant get a warm, fuzzy feeling without knowing what the heck happened.
I'd appreciate any advice you kind folks might be willing to give.

Have you pulled the plugs and checked them after the seafoam treatment? Where the correct dual electrode type ngks installed? OEM wires? Could be a dying coil?

Thanks JayRolla, yep the plugs are dual electrode NGKs and NGK(TE66) wires. I haven't pulled em yet but had hoped, being new, they were ok. New doesn't necessarily mean anything though. I need to pull/inspect em.

your 2001 should be a drive by wire if I recall. I would check the TPS and the actuator for the throttle and even the sensor on the gas pedal. That seems consistent with your original problem. Just my 2 cents.

I thought I'd post an update in case any one may be interested.
Had the truck rescanned for any stored codes today and she came out clean as a whistle. Pulled plugs to inspect and they look as they should.
Seems to be running fine - just wish I knew what caused the stall. Smoke and mirrors, I guess. Thanks to all who replied.
