does anyone have a recommendation for a keyfob cover that doesn't rely on the key blade for attaching to a keychain? that is, something that has it's own built in loop?

Toyota said it's not part of the recall. The recall is just the fob and I'd need to get a new key cut if i want the actual "key" part.

I took advantage of the key "recall" for my 2023 SR5P (they were delivered with 1 key because of shortages at the time). Somehow it took almost two hours, but when I got home, I noticed that the slot where the physical key goes is empty. Is that normal? I guess I don't really care about the key...

Excellent, thanks. I’ll try to do this to keep the same keys as the doors. I was (just now) able to remove the cover under the steering wheel and thwack the cylinder and that was enough to get me home. I’ll work on replacing the cylinder this week. Thanks for all the help, as always
