Its a loud tick not a clank or like a rod knocking. Its coming from the engine at idle not sure where exactly in the engine. Has oil at the mark on the dipstick so its not that

My truck makes this noise when I drive it that sounds like a card in a bike spoke. its gets faster as I accelerate. Is that a lifter thing or something else? I heard theres some kind of fuel thing that also makes that noise any advice please :bump:

89 4 runner 3.0 226,xxx miles and still runs fairly strong have a few concerns though. Leaking some kind of oil really bad but its not engine oil or tranny fluid. I think it may be power steering how do I figure out where? Also very loud lifter noise I think when I accelerate its like a card in...

1989 4 runner 5 spd manual 3.0. has a weird idle sometimes but goes away but has a very loud ticking noise all the time when I accelearate it gets louder. Not sure where to start looking for that problem. Im a young mechanic and appreciate any input. I can fix it just need to know where to look...
