I agree - I spent weeks trying to decide on which direction to go and like you said you can't really test out different shocks unless you are doing it all yourself and even then doubt it can be done. The good news I suppose is there are lots of good options just depends on your needs:)

In regards to the Eibach I've only read various posts about them and they seem to be a good system. I just last week replaced the 5100's on my 4Runner after running the 5100's up front and 5160's in the back. I did have the front set at .85" to do a bit of a "level" so you might consider that...

Not sure about the Eibach shocks or how their ride is but the 5100's will be quite a bit stiffer riding over factory. I just replaced my 5100's with Dobinsons IMS which ride terrific IMHO. 5100's are popular due to price and seem to be mostly bullet-proof so not a bad choice but again ride...

Thank you - that is really helpful and I currently have a really similar set-up to your 4Runner even the same color:) Anyway, I'm pretty sure that what I plan on doing should be fine, I'll post after everything is installed which will be a bit since I still have to order parts.

Depends on how much you plan to abuse them. For me they have been fine but I'm not doing anything crazy with my 4Runner.

Great choice on your 4Runner:thumb3: I have its twin - mine is a 2011 I bought new & so far its been bullet proof!

I think its something like 22" wide and 48"-49" long. Its supposed to be rated for 500# but not sure I'd put that much on it. I've had 3-4 antelope piled up on it a couple times and a spike elk which just fit. They still sell it at Harbor Freight for around a $100 bucks so not a bad investment.

Bought this one at Harbor Freight 8-9 year ago, its had elk/deer and multiple antelope on it a bunch of times and still going strong. Sits up pretty high, never had any issues with it getting in the way either.
