Yep Tarps and bungee cords....... +1 there! Add in a few plastic trash bags, heavy duty type. They are lifesavers. My vote on the firearm.......... an SKS, 7.62x.39. It's small (carbine) and will operate like your Toyota (forever, in any condition).
