    Possible I4Turbo for next 4Runner

It’s funny how psychologically it affects people’s choices seeing/hearing about an i4 engine in a truck. If you ever drive one that fear goes away real quick.

    Dealers not doing billed maintenance

This is why its good to go to a family/solo owned ship instead of a dealer or quicklube place. Those places rely on lower prices and high volume for the easy jobs like fluid changes. You get some jr tech in high school who is paid minimum wage. The solo shops operate on word of mouth and job...

2022 Tundra Gets Independent Rear Suspension and 416hp/442ft lbs V6TT Lexus Engine

What we're seeing starting to happen is likely the last generation of non-hybrid/electric new powertrain development. With most manufacturers planning to produce a majority electric/hybrid vehicles in the next 10 years, its not cost effective to design new V6 or V8 NA powertrains anymore.

    2016-2020 4runner differences

Thanks I'll keep that in mind. Unfortunately the premium that used OR models seem to have is way more than it would cost just to throw some bilsteins on and be done with it (if it really bothered me that much). To be honest, I don't think I've ever ridden in a truck based SUV that didn't have...

    Frozen Bolt driving me mad

This except if you can get some Aero Kroil use that instead of PB Blaster. Plan B is grinder wheel to cut it off.

    2016-2020 4runner differences

Yeah I was already looking at the headunit options like the T9 that are cheap. I like the SR5 premiums for the heated seats, softex (I wear through cloth seats pretty easily), and sunroof. I don't think I'll be doing any heavy offloading (at least initially) so the other off-road features like...

    2016-2020 4runner differences

Thanks for the info. 2020 premium likely out of my price range but doesn't look like i'm missing out on much.

    2016-2020 4runner differences

I'm going to be in the market soon for a slightly used 4runner. Based on my budget it looks like I can either get a newer base SR5 (2019 or 2020) or an older SR5 Premium. Other than the addition in the 2020 models of CarPlay and active safety features, is there anything else different between...

And you thought you had a high-mileage 3rd gen...

I think I'm more impressed with how long the auto transmissions lasts on these things. Not only that but they are smoother shifting than most newer trucks today.

    Need some battery advice...

I've had the best luck with Diehard batteries for aftermarket.

Considering buying T4R, advice on best years

4th gen v8 or 3rd gen limited is my vote.

Why are people complaining about needing an 8 speed

Also depends on the power band of the engine, tire size, etc....

    Windshield Wiper recommendations

Unless its a cheap economy car usually OEMs are the best. Might not be the cheapest though.
