4th gen wheel seal went bad. Up she goes.

Thanks for the help guys. I picked up a pair of brake spring pliers. I'll be able to dive back on it later this evening. Haven't been too impressed with the way it all has to fit on but, at least they work nice when they're working!

    Need Help With Sub Placement

I did a JL amp very similar to that one under the passenger seat like many others. Then wired it straight back to JL W3 sub in a JL stealth box. It sounds incredible. I've always been surprised with the clarity and tightness of the lows.

4th gen wheel seal went bad. Up she goes.

I'm trying to get everything back together and don't have a good way to put the hold-down springs in that have to go over the pin which holds on the front and rear brake drums. Anyone know of a special tool for this?? We got them off with two sets of hands, a couple of flat head screwdrivers...

    Custom center console organizer

This has given me the idea to a custom one for my truck. I'm not as worried about the sizes of the compartments, but I'd like to wire a usb port to it and have it wired to my system. Right now it's all done to the glove box but the center console would be much easier for manipulation.

4th gen wheel seal went bad. Up she goes.

Thanks for the info! The wheels are 'hardened bronze'. I used plasti-dip inside and out, several coats with ample drying time, then a couple coats of hardened bronze by rustoleum. I'm glad you like them! I love them but they're definitely different and not to everyone's taste.

    Considering the Satoshi...

I've got a dark chrome front grill that I tried painting back in the day (bad mistake, don't do it). Some of you might have pulled it off, but I certainly did not. I then found the rattlecan of the gods: Plasti-dip. I've also got dark chrome badges on my truck, but my front emblem snaps...

4th gen wheel seal went bad. Up she goes.

So I got my truck in the air to do a regular oil change and tire rotation (usually do both every ~5000 miles). When I got to the driver's side rear wheel, I noticed an explosion of oil in my wheel well, and it had coated my brakes and axle. Here is what my normal axle looks like: and...

    FINALLY..Limited w/sport hood

Man that looks SO good! I WISH I would have gotten a limited and put a sport hood on it, but I ended up going with a sport and then putting all the bells and whistles on it. And do I see a satoshi mod?? That's been on my list. Now I've got to do it.

How rare are V8 4th Gens without sunroof?

I never knew it was rare, but I have an 07 V8 Sport Edition that has NO sunroof. I've always thought about getting one cut in, but I haven't because I've heard it's such a bad idea. But now I might just enjoy it a little more that I know that it's rare! So thanks! But they ARE out there...

Best way to remove the pin stripe?

3M Rubber Eraser - Amazing. It's like $30 at Autozone. Boom.

Most bang for your buck mod. EASIEST mod...

I for one like the jingle sound. I rarely notice it but when I do I enjoy it.

    More Headlight in Fixture Water

I had this same issue. I took my housing out, popped it in the oven, clamped it together tight with tie-down straps, and then ran clear silicone around the outer edge. Low and behold I still got a little bit of moisture. The next day I parked facing the sun, pulled the bulbs out of my...

    Power Windows

I'm definitely interested. I kind of want an "all down" button maybe on one of the blanks on the center console. My buddy had an H2 with a button that would put all the windows down at once. Anyone know if that's possible? --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=35.803802,-78.634974

Do you get a thud when you stop quickly?

I don't usually feel a thud when I stop, but I do feel it just after changing from Reverse to Drive and begin going. It will 'clunk'/jolt just a hair. I have been able to alleviate the problem by lubing the zerk fittings. But if I don't do this every oil change then it keeps coming back...

    Does this make any sense??

Even if it's upwards of a $4k change, I think it would still be worth it. It makes night and day difference in my opinion. V8 all the way. Plus, tubular rack and step bars FTW.
