    4runner Flat Roof Rack Comparison

I have the Victory rack, and can confirm that it takes a lot of tweaking to get the fairing tight against the roof to avoid noise. One other possible column for the table, for those of us who use the rack for "home chore" purposes: "How well does it handle a sheet of plywood or drywall?" Or...

What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

This is bit more than what you asked, but in case this helps with your wiring decisions. I kept all wiring internal to the engine bay, since I'm not operating lockers, and the hood has to be open to use the compressor. [For now :)] I made up two short stubs of female-to-female disconnects to...

What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

And another thing from today :). A project started and finished on the same day. Who knew that could happen? This particular problem may only apply to the 2020 models since we get actual pressure readings, rather than just an idiot light. The solution may come in handy for other needs, though...

What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Today I finally finished up an On Board Air system, based around an ARB CKMA12. I had originally wanted to reserve the spot in front of the passenger firewall for a dual battery setup. But then decided that's not going to happen for a while, so, like many, I decided to use that space for a...

What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Finally finished the last step of our rear bumper install - relocating the backup camera. I'll count this as what I did today, because today I finally wrapped everything up, and put the cover for the back hatch back on. We added a Victory 4x4 bumper, and a swing out arm for the spare tire. Did...

What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Thanks again! I really like that approach! What I did today.... Ordered the parts listed above. Well, I had to go with a substitute for the ebay listing, because that offer had ended. But the part number steered me in the right direction. That's why I love this forum! One of the reasons I...

What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Thanks for this idea. It's nice to see a different approach. I've been holding off relocating our camera, and installing our rear ladder. Both require pulling the panel on the back hatch, so figure I'd do them both at the same time. There are things about the Victory harness, and mounting...

What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Guess at some point I need to black out those TRD ORP logos to get the full effect... Thanks! Scenery along the drive was even better. But, yeah, I'm happy with the Victory Bumper & Swing out. I don't "plan" on having to change a spare tire while out in the wild... But when I finally do, I'm...

What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Well, today I went though and re-tightened and torqued some nuts and bolts... Not all that interesting... But the reason for that was because _yesterday_ I went on a great shake-down drive. We went on a loop from Prescott, AZ, and back. But the interesting part was the ~80 miles of mostly...

    Fridge/Freezer - Convince Me

Other options :) So Fridges, Coolers, Ice, and Dry Ice are all good options, depending on the circumstances. But I'll throw out one more approach. :) A few of took a canoe trip in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness*, between Minnesota and Canada. A 24 hour drive up there, and then 7...

What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

That's only about an hour and a half north of me, but I haven't made it up to that one yet. Guess I'll get the armor on first :) So many fun roads up this way!

Some follow-on work from a couple of days ago https://www.toyota-4runner.org/3519384-post43741.html - SSO Slimline Bumper install First two other install notes: If you have front shocks with a reservoir system (King, etc.) you want to remove the front bolts from the reservoir brackets before...

    Reset TPMS Sensors

I don't see anything for reset of TPMS in Carista. You can see sensor numbers and pressure (but no temperature). No options to do anything with the TPMS system, other than to share the list of sensors by SMS or email. Pay no attention to the cracked screen :)
