Los Angeles: 2005 4Runner SR5 V8 AWD, 225k miles, Icon suspension, zero rust, 3rd row

I thought I'd never sell my OCD maintained 4Runner, however I just picked up a 2010 LX570 Legendary 4.7 V8, with the 5 speed auto transmission- essentially the same AWD drivetrain as the 100 series LC and LX White over grey cloth. All panels have original paint. No rips in cloth seats Zero...

    5th Gen Calipers

Follow up post for my previous issue- took it to another shop, no fitment issues at all- brake rotor shield did need to be bent quite a bit- as my 4R had SR5 brakes originally- so these rotors are much larger. So far brake performance is great. No steering wheel shake under braking! (knock on...

    5th Gen Calipers

Don't tell me that! Exactly what I'm trying to cure with this upgrade. If the shake goes away after hard braking- could be pad deposits on the rotor- but at 10k miles I'd think you're past that. I just picked up mine from having all parts installed today. Because my truck is a SR5- brake shield...

    5th Gen Calipers

Unfortunately no stampings on the rotor. I'll have it to another shop next week. Worst case I have them get a set of 5th gen rotors from Napa. Calipers have the correct 14WA stamping on them.

Did you need to bend only on the outer edge of the shield, or toward the hub as well? Verified the part number appears to be correct- this look like the correct rotor offset? Shop is telling me the rotor was hitting the caliper itself, not the shield. Not sure I believe them at this point.

    5th Gen Calipers

How much are you guys having to bend the brake shield for the front rotor to fit? I have my truck at a shop who won't do the work as they won't bend the brake shield as much as it needs to be (at all?)... they say the rotor won't move at all when rotor is on the hub.:ybrick: Pictures of bent...

    Perfect- thank you.

Soft brake pedal? Although those issues seem to be bleed procedure related. My rear brakes are fine- have a steering shake/pulsation up front that I'm fairly sure is caliper related.

Has anyone experienced issues with just doing the 5th gen upgrade up front, leaving the rear 4th gen calipers?

Frozen Calipers - How many others had this problem?

For the 5th gen brake upgrade, is it just calipers, pads, and rotors? I just dropped the truck off at the shop that did my previous set of EBC brakes- see what they say. I agree it's something in the braking system- has to be rotors or calipers that's causing the issue.

I don't think the rotors are warped or defective since the steering wheel shake is intermittent. If I lightly brake at speed, no shake. If I get the brakes warmed up, seems to not shake. It's really quite odd- which is why I suspect caliper issue. Calipers are original at 208k miles.

Would sticking caliper pistons cause intermittent steering shake (around 55 mph), similar to warped rotors- as well as what I'd describe as "lumpy braking" at low speeds, similar to pad deposits on the rotors? I had EBC rotors and pads installed a few months ago- the above symptoms showed up...

Interstate AGM MT-7 battery, which fits?

I had no idea what sizes fit our tray. Seems to be no logic to the numbering system.
