There’s a Texas part in this forum?

Anyone know of a shop that does the swap in Texas. I'd love to send my '86 to Toyonlyswaps in the PNW but that would be costly in transporting.

Looking for options. Will a 1992 pickup tail lights fit a 1986 4runner? They look very similiar.

Are you seeing both lights on with ignition ON but truck not running? That is normal. However, once it is started, both should go off.

Well shit. Disconnected both & the light went out. Turns out that the brake reservoir switch is "backwards". It reads shorted when full & open when empty. Appears the lid/switch is not stock. It is now disconnected. The fun you have when you buy a new toy. You find everyone else's hacks.

So both the fluid level & parking brake switches should be "open", not "closed". I was thinking it would be looking for a closed switch to turn off the light. Otherwise, they can be disconnected to bypass which is not ideal. I tested both with a meter for open/closed operation & both were...

Raising a dead post. I thought the switches were looking for a short to turn off the brake light indication? If so, disconnecting the switches would be an open & the light would remain ON. I can't get my brake light to go OFF.

Depending on where your torsion bars are set right now, you can get quite a rise from cranking them up. However, without the proper lift you may strain your cv axles at too great of an angle.

I don't like the 3.slow so maybe if they gave you $100

Anyone ever run into a mismatch on part # for these? Everything says I should have a fra462 but it's a fra461 which came in a '85.

If it will not go into gear at all, I'd say it's rebuild time. If you didn't provide the history, I might have suggested shifter linkage. Mine was a trooper, I could not kill it. Finally tired of the burnt trans fluid smell & worry about longer trips.

Waiting on a flywheel to slap it all together. Noticed the trans mount & front drive shaft flange were also different. It goes together tomorrow, hopefully.

OK, smaller one in bottom pic is not a solenoid. It is either a fluid pressure sensor or a fluid temperature sensor. I am guessing pressure since there are 2 temp sensors accessible from the outside case.
