    HELP!!! (Posting Pics_

Nope :( I had the same problem. I post using PhotBucket on several forums just fine, but here it does not work. I had to post my Diff gasket change write up with pics on another web page and link to it from here because this site doesn't support photos on third party sites....

Thanks Nick! Glad it worked out so well and thanks for all the pointers - this will help me too. I've printed out 2 of the online DIY guides with photos so these, plus your feedback, should make it do able in a weekend.

That's great Nick! Please take LOTS of photos if you can :) I know posting them here is tough, but maybe you could email me them? I'll pass on the Jetta...we just sold my wife's 06 Mazda 3 after 5 months of trying (now down to 4 cars!)....no room. So you're not doing the FIPG for the oil...

    Final timing chain parts check

Nick - did you get to it yet? I ordered the same kit and the parts DO look nice - a steal if you ask me! I'm likely doing it in October - my buddy who's helping me gets married in early October so I'm, trying to snag him right after....

Are the Heater Controls supposed to be illuminated?

Not sure about yours but my 87 had "non-illuminated" controls too and it drove me nuts...found out after 6 years of this that there WAS a light behind there - it was just DEAD! If it's the same as mine, it's a cinch to replace. The bulbs are at any auto parts store and come in pairs. Just...

    Water leak on passenger side

Not sure if it's the same on your generation but my 87 always leaked there when it poured...thought it was the window gasket...turned out it was the rubber gasket for the radio antenna on the passenger fender - there was none (aftermarket antenna)! I found this out after someone snapped off my...

    Final timing chain parts check

Nick I think you have it all - I've been looking at this too for this year, as I think mine's never had it done in 250K+ miles! Are you going DOA or LC engineering on the kit? Both are about $200.

    Chirping when downshifting...

Before my driveshaft fell off (it was at low speed - I didn't die), I noticed a chirping too. However, mine happened when I was in gear and on the gas....the moment I lifted off the gas while still in gear, the chirp happened. I was driving to my mechanic to have it looked at when the shaft...
