My 3rd gen. is stock (including the wheels). It gets around pretty good, but never been to a beautiful place like that!

My 2001 T4R highway mileage goes up to 23 or 24 MPG if I keep it to about 65 MPH. This has been confirmed on several long road trips. (Cleaning the MAF may have helped too, but wind resistance/drag is exponential at higher speeds, not linear.)

Me? Synthetic oil. Cold start: idle about 30 seconds and then I don't put a lot of demand on the engine for the first couple of miles.

I've heard that rinsing with PLAIN WATER helps, but not to use SOAP, as that can react with the road salt/de-icer and make it worse. Shrug. Maybe just a myth. We don't get snow here very often, but I rinse the underside as soon as possible after the roads clear of the de-icer.
