lol what a dope! Luckily noticed red fluid immediately and jammed drain bolt back in and had recently done trans dump and refill so had fluid on hand and already set up to read temp for level check. Seems like a different bolt size would have been a good idea, so the alarm bells go off in head...

No I have an RTT. Wife and 2 kids fit there nicely. Space is a major concern though for other things i might need. What has prompted the question is Dometic putting it on clearance for $929.

Just got done mounting a smitybilt xl on stock cross bars. It can be done! It did require bending lower mount brackets and some hard rubber spacers, but it got done. I would suggest higher than stock cross bars for access for tightening. Hope this helps someone who is planning the same

Yeah I thought about that too, but the idea of having a bumper cover floating around in my garage is not good thing. A new bumper cover can be had for $200-300 so I kind of dismissed that concern.
