I called 800-331-4331 and sure enough no recall or anything, they just took my name down. Here is my case# 1408152385, Anyone who has had this issue even if it was years ago please call and mention my case number so we can get the wheels moving on a possible recall. The rep did say if enough...

    2004 Limited Edition 4Runner 4X4 - Head Gasket

Could torquing the headbolt nearest cyl 6 down a bit more seal the leak? It's such a small slow leak it seems like a little extra torque might do it?

*sigh* 04' with incredible preventative maintenance schedule (all oem parts and pink coolant). Occasional rough starts for the past few months getting much more occasional. Finally P0306 (misfire) code. I swapped coils with cyl 5 and checked plug (looked ok I replaced a few k ago). More rough...

    Tow cap

Good points here. I should point out for others that I'm simply towing a low profile flat open car hauler with a gutted racecar. Compared to pulling a giant windsail like a camper, its not affected as much by wind. I would recommend WDH for something like what your towing.

    Tow cap

I won't argue that a WDH is a fantastic investment and is always a good choice. But if your not wanting to shell out that extra cash, I think as long as you stay below the tow cap you will be ok if you have towed before. If your new to towing its an excellent investment and will take a lot of...

    Scion T1808 question

cable works great albeit something strange happens with my galaxy SIII when I plug it in. If I don't first connect my phone to my power cable from cigarette 12v, and connect it, any slight movements will cause distortion and will actually change songs or even queue up the galaxies equivalent to...

    Tow cap

How heavy was your boat + trailer? Hmm, My truck has 225k miles on it (Great condition) and I'm going to get a frame mounted receiver ($200?), brake controller ($150?), trans cooler ($75?) and will pull an 1800lb trailer with a 2700lb car on it + 250-500lbs of tools and equipment (possibly in...

    Transmission Cooler Install

Hmm, You may be right but I just can't shake all the different people I have heard say that once the fluid has changed color and smell then it's too late for a flush and you will definitely cause more harm than good. I'll check my fluid again and if it is relatively close in color to new fluid I...

    Tow cap

Agreed, It would also help transfer some of the weight towards the front of the truck as well (relieving some of that sag). Which B&M model did you choose? I was thinking of just grabbing a Hayden 677 from local autowhathaveyou. I find it unusual that the V6 actually already has a cooler in the...

    Transmission Cooler Install

Yes that's exactly what I mean. It's one of those things where I think if you keep on it you can flush forever but as soon as you let it go for 100k.... probably going to slip like crazy. I bet I could drain it and fill it with new stuff (since that's blending old with new) but I'm too scared to...

    Transmission Cooler Install

So did you experience any gear wash? I'm terrified of flushing my fluid with 225k miles on the truck. Not sure if it's been replaced already but I imagine I would get pretty bad gear wash if I flushed the fluid. Not sure about just draining and adding new fluid though (lots of old fluid and grit...

    Tow cap

Tongue cap with stock cross member mounted receiver is 500lbs, not sure if that also increases with a proper frame mounted receiver but that doesn't seem unreasonable? I should be able to stay under that with the weight I'm towing, mainly depends on hitch height. Anyone know if the tongue...
