    Long-Term Build

I haven’t been on here in ages but the truck is still going. No real changes and haven’t been using it much but it still gets out and turns some heads occasionally. :)

Yup, still going, but I don’t use it much. Life, kids, divorce all took time (and money!) away from Toys but it’s slowly getting better.

    COB's 87 4Runner Turbo

If you want, talk to Corey (Slacker) and have your stuff shipped to my place. I am in BC, about two miles north of Blaine, WA. I know Corey well and he did the body on my Runner. PM me if you want.

    Another rear window thread

The relays most likely feed the motor directly. Their purpose is to handle the high current load of the motor while all the switches an interlocks only see the lower 'control' current. You need to look at a circuit diagram from a FSM or Haynes manual to know what is going on. You may have a...

    Another rear window thread

Get a circuit diagram and start checking all the interlocks to the motor. One quick thing, make sure the tailgate is fully latched "2 clicks" on both sides. There are interlocks on the latches and the motor will not operate if the latches are partially closed.

    Rear Wiper/ Defrost Broken

You'll need to get a voltmeter or probe and a circuit diagram. Start at the switch and look for power at all wire terminations back towards the place where it should be going. Go slow and its pretty simple.

    4WD Problem?

We had the same problem a few months ago with a pickup on a trail run. It had manual hubs swapped in but retained the ADD actuator and there was an electrical fault, causing no 4WD. I think we bypassed the vacuum solenoid to provide vacuum to the ADD actuator. You could also have a vacuum line...

    Leaking rusty fuel line...

It will work short term but it will likely leak elsewhere and you'll have to replace it. I was looking at converting mine to AN fittings and line but haven't been too motivated yet.

    My 1989 4Runner

That's nice! Hope you're going to rust proof it or put it away for the winter. It won't last long otherwise.

    ajohnson's 85 build

You should be good with 10 oz per tire. That's what I run with Dynabeads. First tried them on my KTM 690 and they worked great so I threw them in when I had the Swampers mounted. They're good up to about 70 mph. :)

    Stopping frame rust

This stuff is awesome. You can get it in spray cans or get it applied professionally. Worth every penny in my mind. I had my truck done yearly for 12 years in Ontario, with lots of road salt, and it kept it solid. It only started rusting when I moved to the west coast and figured i didn't need...

    Brake warning light flashes intermittently

If you're not losing brake fluid then I second the e-brake switch.

You would probably get a good response on ToyotaDiesel.com

    87 4runner SR5 Build Thread

:iagree: I would move the box forward now. You can also move the axle ahead a bit more and avoid some rubbing. TG has a simple kit for this.

    Rear Driveshaft Snapped... AGAIN.

I would start here: Driveline 101 Make sure all your joint angles are equal and within reason. Also, make sure the joints on the shaft are in phase. You may have to rotate the slip joint to get this right. If you cannot lose the vibrations, you may need to get a double cardan joint in the...
