    Official Reveal Thread 2025 6th gen 4Runner

For even more kicks, go back to when the 5th Gen was first leaked around 2009. Or when it became apparent that there'd be a fixed mast antenna and a non-locking fuel door. And no V8. Or back to the 4th Gen and the outrage around the gray plastic fender flares. So much so that Toyota had to...

    Official Reveal Thread 2025 6th gen 4Runner

Probably not going to see those until someone can buy a production model and push it till it breaks. I have little respect for someone borrowing something (like a manufacturer's review unit) and abusing it for views. If you're going to do that, put your own money on the line, buy one, and do...

    Official Reveal Thread 2025 6th gen 4Runner

Judging from the space just the 1.87-kWh battery takes up, I'm not optimistic of a PHEV version coming soon unless/until battery tech greatly improves. My RAV4 Prime has an 18.1 kWh battery. I'd imagine a larger battery would be desirable for a larger vehicle like the 4Runner.

    Official Reveal Thread 2025 6th gen 4Runner

My very first 4Runner (2005 Sport Edition) was the non-metallic white. Natural White or something like that. I've heard that Toyota does not use a separate clear coat with the non-metallic white. There was a service campaign available for certain Toyotas in Blizzard Pearl due to peeling...

White cars too. Boring. Fast forward and my last 4 vehicles have been white. And if I get a 6th Gen 4Runner, it'll probably be white. I'm just not thrilled with the black door handles on the Platinum. I didn't like it on the 5th Gen Nightshade Limited in Blizzard Pearl.

    Official Reveal Thread 2025 6th gen 4Runner

From the Toyota video of the 4Runner Press Conference: 2025 Toyota 4Runner Press Conference Reveal | Toyota - YouTube They showed a photo of the Platinum and what the 3rd row looks like (screenshots attached). I remember when black trim signified the base model. Black door handles, black...

    Official Reveal Thread 2025 6th gen 4Runner

There's probably a meme GIF somewhere that's appropriate to describe the fandom's reaction whenever there is a redesign. But I remember all the "No V8. I'll never buy another 4Runner. Toyota is doomed." and the "so glad I bought a 2009" posts. Change is hard. At the rate Toyota redesigns the...

    Official Reveal Thread 2025 6th gen 4Runner

It's hard to believe the last reveal was 14 or 15 years ago. Kind of appropriate they did it during the week of a solar eclipse, that seem to happen just about as often. I will reserve final judgement until I can see it in person, but I like it. I don't remember feeling the same way in 2009...

Best speculation of a 2023 6th generation I have seen

I've driven 1,200 miles and still on my first tank of gas in my '24 RAV4 Prime. I'm getting around 40 miles of full EV driving and charge at home on a standard 110v outlet (I have a PV system). Most of my trips are under 30 miles round-trip. I'd go for a PHEV 4Runner with a 30-40 mile range in...

Or maybe all 4R will be hybrid, similar to Sequoia?

Best speculation of a 2023 6th generation I have seen

In Hawaii, 4Runner outsells Highlander by a considerable margin. Some of them are 4WD and, particularly on the neighbor islands, see off-road use. But many, particularly on Oahu, are RWD and probably the worst terrain they face are our potholed streets. In 2012, my final choices came down to...

Best speculation of a 2023 6th generation I have seen

Just about every purchase we make as consumers has an emotional component, but totally agree -- there is a lot of that in purchasing a car. It is extremely visible to others. And many of us -- myself included -- knowingly or subconsciously stereotype our first impressions of others by the...

Best speculation of a 2023 6th generation I have seen

Toyota definitely is not too concerned about overlap in its lineup. We saw it with RAV4 -> Venza -> NX and Camry -> Crown -> ES; the upcoming 4Runner -> Land Cruiser -> GX; and now with Highlander -> Crown Signia -> RX. Also seems pretty clear that some of this is just leveraging product...

Best speculation of a 2023 6th generation I have seen

This is my guess for the “four new models arriving at the dealership in the next 11 months” mentioned in the video: - 2024 Tacoma - 2024 Land Cruiser - 2025 Camry - 2025 4Runner Followed by 2025 RAV4.

Best speculation of a 2023 6th generation I have seen

Keep in mind that the fleet schedule should be relatively close to retail sales, but I have seen a few variances. Also, like anything else, those dates do move around and they'll just update it on the site. The bZ4X, for example, was originally showing a cutoff for the 2023 model year back in...
