    330,000 km too much?

Howdy, I've been looking for a new t4r since my 91 gave up the ghost. There is a 02 limited with the 3.4L for sale but it has 330,000 km's and they still want 9 grand. It looks ok, some dents and dings and the motor looks clean (all highway) but thats all been cleaned. Sound like its worth it?

    95 V6 performance upgrades

A good head gasket with a steel slipper plate would be good, as soon as that gasket goes it starts screwing things up fast. I'd run an injector cleaner through as well and oil sludge stuff. Basically you pour it in drive for half an hour and it sucks all the crap to the oil pan, thens its oil...

3VZE.. another one bites the dust..

Capt I dont suppose you documented any of this??? And a 93FSM would work, toyota put a new one out each year for each model, prolly citing small changes in design. Ya right

3VZE.. another one bites the dust..

3VZE.. another one bites the dust..

Toyota no longer sells the fsm for the 90 t4r, and they wont sell me their copy

    $1500 for head gasket

RUN AWAY FROM FELPRO!!!! They still use the original Toyota head gasket design, which is the whole reason there was a recall in the first place. Rock auto also makes a head gasket with a steel slipperplate. just though i'd let ya know Check, your mechanic may be using old faulty felpro gaskets

    Swap 3vze for 22r?

Ya it would be a RE but this 3.0 is worthless in my truck, so its either finding a new 3vze and maybe having it cause trouble down the line, or a 22RE but is that engine a ton more reliable? or would I be wasting my time

    Swap 3vze for 22r?

My 2nd gen 4runner has a dead 3.slow, I was wondering how hard it would be to swap in a 22r 4 cylinder (its an auto truck) and if it would be worth it? From what i've heard its a more reliable engine so I dunno, is it alot better than the 3.0?

95 4runer in sad shape input greatly appreciated!

Ok that sounds like a tranny problem/driveshaft problem. If it appears in a specific RPM range, its your motor, speed/gear its your tranny most likely. I would still start looking for a rebuilder for the motor, and prolly your tranny as well, may as well get it all out of the way while you can...

95 4runer in sad shape input greatly appreciated!

The 3vze was not one of toyotas shining moments, its a terrible engine. If the body and frame are in decent shape, and you like your truck, i'd find a good engine rebuilder, and have her remanufactured. You get your engine back better than new, with a half decent head gasket (make sure they dont...

3VZE.. another one bites the dust..

I second that, mine has a bad head gasket, rear main seal, low compression, sucks when cold, stalls, and is a pita to start after it stalls (runs rich i think)

    Pictures of my T4R rebuild!

Any good pics of the rebuild itself??? I'm looking at doing mine next. So any descriptions/ problems/tips would be great

    1986 4Runner ECU issues

No it has the 3.slow i'd prolly be having less problems if it had the 22re

    1986 4Runner ECU issues

where is the cld start injector, because when my truck is cold she stalls out under acceleration/idle, and that injector is on my list of probable cause

very dirty intake manifold on 95, sluggish performance

from what i've heard its just a problem with the t4r. when I had a valve cover gasket replaced I also had the intake cleaned
