    Quantum's Manual-Swapped 2000 Build

Managed to fix my rear window today. It was only rolling down about an inch or two, then stopping. Not the typical symptoms of the ever more common bad hatch wiring. I took the door panels off and it turns out that the door lock motor has nearly fallen off. Got a good chuckle out of that...

    Fuel Tank Skid Options

FWIW, I didn't have to modify my Lil Skip skid to run sliders. Maybe its only true for bolt on sliders, but mine welded up just fine.

I enjoy my lil' skip skid. No problems, and I'm pretty sure its the best fitting of the three.

    Quantum's Manual-Swapped 2000 Build

Got some CEL codes to figure out. Yay... Here's what I've figured out: P0773: Shift solenoid error. Not gonna worry about this one, 'cause I don't have shift solenoids anymore, I'll get around to "fixing" it with some resistors sometime. P1780: Park/neutral safety switch malfunction...

Nicked radiator hard line with angle grinder

Only one way to get experience. So long as eyes and ears are protected, worst he can do it get a nasty scar. Not at all as dangerous as a chainsaw, where even if you do have the proper PPE, its easy for an idiot to chop off a hand (coming from the idiot who nearly cut his leg off with a chainsaw.)

Considering buying T4R, advice on best years

Yep. Keep in mind that manuals are harder to find, for MY2000 (the last year of the manual) only about 5% were actually manual from the factory. I've also seen them commanding significantly more expensive prices recently, at least 20% more.

Considering buying T4R, advice on best years

So the funny thing about 3rd gens is that all the best options were available, but some took a lot of work. There are manuals up to and including MY2000, but it was not offered in the Limited trims, only the SR5 and base trims. Furthermore, the multimode transfer case (2WD-AWD-4WD-4Lo) was only...

Considering buying T4R, advice on best years

Best 4runner hands down is the 3rd gen. If you want a unicorn, look for a 99-00 Highlander, if possible with the multimode transfer case and elocker. Then swap a manual in it, add a supercharger and you have the best 4runner ever made.

What are your thoughts on the best air intake

I enjoy doing stream crossings "at speed" so it gives me a good deal of extra peace of mind in addition to reducing dust pickup (an issue in NM in the summers.) Also, I did notice an increase in power after putting it on, probably both due to the ram air effect at speed and more unencumbered...

What are your thoughts on the best air intake

No idea, don't think you need to remove the whole elbow. I just remember being surprised when putting my snorkel on that it necks down so much at the beginning of the intake tube.
