No discernible difference in ride height or stiffness with 5-10 lbs. in mine. Sure do appreciate them when towing the camper.

Love my full length BajaRack, but for your intended use, I would think a nice, solid little trailer would be more useful, and easier to load and unload the fuel.

Summer: Cooper AT3's in stock size. Winter: Cooper ATW's. Very happy with both, but, for my use (mild off road and occasional trailering) I would prefer a slightly heavier sidewall construction. Will probably go Cooper St.Max next time around.

Good looking rack. I looked into it a while back, and, if I remember correctly, it requires you to drill two more holes in your roof for the front mounting brackets. Not certain of this - you might want to check that out.

Agree with the above posts - that would be their limitation. However, they do appear to be somewhat self-adjusting, in that they could be manufactured for the average weight rating of your choice, but then have variable core deflecting characteristics that might cover the typical sidewall...

I agree with the OP, - prefer the backup sonar I had on my FJ, rather than the camera on my Runner. Only comes in the Limited edition. You can add after-market sensors, but I don't know if they are any good. I am considering adding them in addition to the rear view camera. Perhaps someone has...
