I have a 05 Sport and I am considering buying a set of the FJ 17" steel wheels so I can mount a set of snow tires on them. For you 4th generation owners that have done this, do you change the lug nuts to the FJ cruiser lugs or do you just use the 4runner lugs with the steel wheels...

Rust looks just about average for the age of the vehicle and the fact that it's from a rust belt state. I live in Massachusetts and my undercarraige looks about the same maybe slightly better. I have an 05 with 67,000 plus miles.

Unfortunately it could happen again depending on how long you keep the car. Most people have summed it up as a design defect that leads to the frozen calipers on the 4th gen. I have already changed both my fronts, but didn't pay a dime since my extended warranty covered that.
