    Scion Headunits

You know, I don't know it well enough to say. I installed it all for my wife, and she and the kids use it. I think it works fine with playlists, and that's the most convenient way to get what you want. And you'd do that on the iPod before plugging it in. But the right-most knob on the T1808...

    Scion Headunits

T1808 Clayton, here's more info: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showthread.php?threadid=36665&highlight=t1808 I would add one change: The antenna placement I chose for satellite radio (on the dash, inside) I would do again. But some people wouldn't like it. After a few months, we find it...

New here!! FJ or 4R??? help...

I wanted an FJ so bad I started losing sleep. But I drive an A4, which I'm not giving up, so it had to be my wife's. I had her look, and she drove the FJ, and she didn't like the access to the back seat and it just didn't work. So the compromise was a 4Runner Sport Edition and it's pretty...

    Scion HU

Nc211, sorry it's getting to be a hassle. I looked on ebay too, but sometimes I can't deal with it either. I googled and found a guy in Vegas that had a bunch of them. I should think that anybody that does mods on Scions has them. It was a few months ago, but I think mine was $80.

    Scion HU

It's totally worth it, nc211. The bass and treble, balance and fade are all adjustable, but there's an SSP button that sets for "Neutral", "Hear", and "Feel", so set it to "Hear" and that's all you need. I bought the iPod cable from the guy everyone talks about on Ebay. Here's my post about...

    New speaker advice

Scion HU You asked if the Scion unit was that much better than the stock unit. Yes, it's way better. It's not a custom, no-expense-spared system. It has enough power to sound ok, decent features if you add satellite and iPod, it's cheap, and since it's plug-and-play, it's easy. check my...

    T1808 color matching?

I 2nd - it's an oranger orange... a little reddish, but close enough. I think you'd have to point it out for someone to notice.

Love the my new 4R, but.....

Take a look at my thread http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=36665 I presume you can get Sirius instead, but I don't know. Anyway, it's a pretty inexpensive solution, and I can say now after using it for a couple of weeks that it's pretty good.

    Satellite Radio

Yes, steering wheel controls work fine. The capability is in the Scion head unit, which is plug-n-play with the car. Since it's satellite-ready, it just needs a unit for input. The one I bought is here: http://store.xmfanstore.com/texmfortovex.html It's quite different from receivers like...

    Scion HU Install

Pardon me for piling on: I just did it, and it was easy. I had gotten a quote for $300 to do the installation. It took 3 hours, going slow, being careful, and taking coffee breaks. Nothing scary at all, and I am a certified idiot.

    Satellite Radio

John, check my post: "T1808 / XM / iPod". I did it all yesterday, and it was easy. But there are lots of people with experiance here, and I'm no expert. I put the antenna on the left side of the dash and it (so far) seems to work fine. No wires, no mess.

    T1808 / XM / iPod

Scion T1808 / XM / iPod in 2006 Sport Edition Thanks everyone for the help. I read through the archives and found the posts that suggested the Scion radios and installation. It was a perfect solution for what we needed. Special thanks to the guy that posted the dash removal instructions. So...

    Stereo Upgrade Options

Scion T1808 Thanks everyone for what I think I've learned so far. But please help me double-check: I got my wife a 2006 Sport Ed last year with the base radio. She had XM before, so she's not happy with me. So I read everything here, and I bought a T1808 HU, and a XMDTLK. The T1808 appears...
