Stereo Upgrade Options

Okay, so I have been driving my Passat lately (10 speaker system, Sirius sat radio, AUX input & 6 disc changer)...... but needed to detail the 4Runner..... I've now noticed how I need to upgrade the stereo... I have the stock unit with a single disc. I never listen to the radio.

I thought about adding the Pioneer D3 (very costly)
Adding a 6 disc changer (no one has a direct fit only FM modulated) Toyota wants an arm and a leg for a factory one

any idea/suggestions? all are welcome...

Do a search for Scion on here, you'll find that many people have replaced the OEM with a Scion radio and love it, I've done it myself and couldn't be happier...

Scion headunits

All of the Scion headunits will fit.
The T1806, T1808, and T1809 offer complete iPod compatibility when used with a cable available on ebay as "SC12235" and the Aux input options when used with a SC12237 cable.
The T1807 only offers the Aux input option.

Scion T1808

Thanks everyone for what I think I've learned so far.

But please help me double-check:

I got my wife a 2006 Sport Ed last year with the base radio. She had XM before, so she's not happy with me.

So I read everything here, and I bought a T1808 HU, and a XMDTLK. The T1808 appears to have the iPod port, so I'm ordering the cable from Ebay for it.

I think I want to upgrade speakers while I'm at this, and I wonder if I need anything else, like more power.

This seems like it will be a pretty simple solution. I mean, it should match the truck well, but not look like something worth stealing. It will have AM/FM/Single CD/XM and iPod. It's inexpensive at $250 so far. I think I'll get a Homelink rearview too.

Any gotchya's you can see? Any things to add?

Thanks - I'll post 'after' pics, because I may have it done if I can. Otherwise I gotta wait until it warms up a little.
