Cats are pretty valuable even as scrap. Not sure they will give me brand new ones for nothing then give me the old ones back?

Trck goes in next week to get both Cats replaced...Havent even made it to my first scheduled oil change yet either!! It will be done under the TSB. I just really didnt expect to get to know the name of everyone that worked at that dealership :)

the only reason to go with the V8 in his situation is because he already has it. He would more then likely not save any cash by switching now.

So say its 4 extra miles per gallon on a 15 gallon tank. That means on every tank he would go an extra 60 miles per tank in a v6? So he would safe roughly what 6-9 dollars a tank? If the V6 cost him a 1000 bucks [regestration ect] it would take him about 100 tanks of gas to break even no? So...

haha yeah. if I was at 1500000 I would have very little to complain about. I think the lemon law applies to the same issue a certain amount of times or when an issue can be fixed or something? This is 4 seperate problems. And no they have not given me a hard time at all.

When I worked for VW the 2.0 4cyl motors were consuming a lot of oil. So much so that VW started replacing them. After we installed the new motors we basically took the cars out held them in 3rd gear and beat the crap out of them. We never saw those cars again for engine problems. I mean...

I dont think a car company can recomend you break the law in order to break you car in. However why wouldnt Toyota recommend changing the oil at 1k miles and other fluids early if it was necessary? Unless there is something in the actual manuals? Toyota Parts and Service
