Where do you live? My guy does the 3.0 rebuild for $1200 (including taking it out and putting it back in). Thats all he does. Sometimes you can find guys like this on CraigsList.

Do you have a fan shroud? (not on my Toyota) I replaced everything as you did and still overheated. Went to the wrecking yard and added the stock fan shroud. No more overheating. They do more then you might think.

Its a water neck timing belt bearring. I am not sure the exact name for this part? You will see it right in the center of the front of the motor when you open the hood.

It does sound like it could be coming from that timing cover area. Is that hard to check?
