How do you generate them manually? Given the manual for your 4Runner says M3Us aren't compatible, I'd think it wouldn't apply to your 4Runner either. Are these "system auto-generated lists" what the head unit extracts from the MP3 meta data tags? I'm trying to duplicate what you're doing...

Thanks for the quick reply. Interesting, sounds like I owe you a :beer:. Do you have a Playlist tab on screen, along with Albums, Artists, etc., or is there another way you select the playlist. And can you use multiple playlists?

Art, having looked over this a few more times, I'm getting the impression this is a red herring. First off, the manual for the 2013 4Runner Entune (which on Toyota's web site is for the 2012) says that .m3u files are not compatible with Entune. My manual says the same, and I can verify that...

Having just gone through the update through the phone, it appears THAT was an update to the Entune Apps. What the dealer applied was a firmware update (01018D) for the head unit.

On the Toyota Entune web site, there is a page that lists the carriers/phones that are compatible with Entune (https://www.toyota.com/entune/#!compatibility/4runner/2017). When I got the 4Runner back in April, I tried pairing my phone and it failed. That's how I discovered the web page. Having...

Unfortunately, no. Just had my 1st service last week, and asked the dealer to check for updated to Entune. There was one, which they applied, but it didn't help.

I've got my issues with Entune and USB drives, but getting the files to play hasn't been one of them. There could be any of a number of variables that are causing your issue, so I'd just stick with the drive you favor most and try to get that to work. First make sure you're not plugging and...
