Where are the frame pictures?

Thousands. Used junkyard part is $1000-1500. That's with nothing on it. You have to swap out all the trim and parts, then paint it. Not worth it. I find it hard to believe the rest of the car is rust free. But it may be possible. If the seller took $5K off the price and all else checks out...

Likely needs a new liftgate. If the insides are not rotted, a skilled body shop could weld metal back but getting the latch to align is critical. Is this a pre purchase inspection?

How long was the delay? I have seen a few other members have this and their theory is neutral safety switch. I tend to believe valve bodies get worn.

Asphalt based-Patriot- coatings can trap moisture under them and you will never know. Use Fluid Film black if you want that look.

I believe the transmission was replaced with a used unit at some point.
