    Clutch kit recommendation?

We are going to be replacing the clutch in my daughter's 96 3.4 rig. I was looking at the Exedy 16087 from Rock Auto. Is this a decent kit? Engine is stock, running 35s now. Will also be replacing the rear main, any recommendations there as well?

    Wheel Adapter source

In my continuing effort to not be such an ass I bit the bullet and paid the return freight and sent the wrong parts back for exchange. If this doesn't get handled correctly I will fight the charge on my Visa. WheelAdapterUSA is about impossible to deal with. Lesson learned. Thanks for the rapid...

Where do I get those? Direct or some particular vendor?

    Wheel Adapter source

Any GOOD sources for wheel adapters? My daughter bought some adapters from Wheel Adapters USA. They shipped the wrong part and they are IMPOSSIBLE to get ahold of and deal with. She need 1.5" adapters - she got 1-1/8". Seems they expect me to pay return freight AND restocking fee. We ordered the...

    Complete front strut assembly recommendations

According to USAA she has an SR5 if that helps at all. From the looks of the two strut assemblies sitting side by side the Gabriel must be for 15" wheels. Gabriel web site doesnt ask any wheel, engine, trans, rwd or 4wd questions. One size fits most I guess. I will go with the Bilstein 24-187244...

    Complete front strut assembly recommendations

99 tall brand of your choosing??? I looked up 99 vs 96, both have listings for 15" or 16" wheel. She has 16" currently but rims are aftermarket. The RA listing for 96 shows as 16", 4WD, Front, Man Trans. The same part number for 99 says 15" 4WD, Man Trans. This is for ACDelco spring. Do I want...

    Complete front strut assembly recommendations

Looks like I screwed up by buying the Gariel Ultra ReadyMount struts. They appear to be shorter than the stock Toy/Bilsteins that are on the rig now. The Revtek appears to be a preload spacer set up with another 1/4" steel plate on the top. What do I need to buy to maintain this amount of lift...

    Complete front strut assembly recommendations

What parts are required for such work? strut, which spring, and what are the other parts required? I have never done this type of work before. I did just do her ball joints. She does have a Revtek leveling kit on the front. Does this go away then? The main reason I want to do all is because the...

Official 3rd gen 4Runners on 35's Pic Thread

What does a 96 need as far as lift to run 35s? My daughter is set on putting a set on her rig. Currently she only has a Revtek leveling donuts. Stock gearing as far as I know. She has already removed the stock running boards and fender flairs for her current tires.

She has a pretty strict budget, that's why we are looking at those brands. I figured at 300K miles the springs could use replacing as well. Almost anything has to be better than the clapped out stock units.

    Complete front strut assembly recommendations

I will be replacing the front struts on my daughters 96 4runner in the coming weeks and am looking at doing a complete strut assy vs reusing the stock spring as the rig has 300k miles on it. I am assuming the struts on there now are the stock ones since they say Toyota on them and the lower...

What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Installed new upper & lower ball joints (well passenger side upper, ran out of time to do drivers side) in my daughters 96 w/ 298k. Her boyfriend had bought MasterPro from O'Reillys, hopefully they arent complete junk. They did have zerks in them. I did notice that the outer tie rod ends seem...

3rd Gen T4R DIY Maintenance, Repair and Modification Videos

Watched the upper and lower ball joints ones again yesterday as I was doing my daughters rig. I ran out of time and only did the passenger side upper along with both lowers. Are the uppers ones that wear out as easily as the lowers? Sure was a hassle with marginal tools from O'Riellys.

How to replace 3rd Gen lower ball joints. Pic Heavy.

I'm going to be watching both the upper and lower vids today as I am doing my daughters 96 later on today. I checked with the local shop, they say 3.3 hours per side-so $600+ to the job-labor only, she already bought the parts. BTW this 15 post thing really is a hinderance. 10 should be fine...

While Timmy's videos can be a bit longwinded they are very informative, better that most that are out there. Good job.
