    coolant leak

There are little bypass hoses at the rear of the engine that can break and leak on the engine, there is a tube under the intake manifold that can leak as well.

Cold weather ??'s - First winter with my 4Runner

It's in the teens to 30's at night here in the PacNW, sometimes it will snow more than a foot in 24 hours, that's coming soon, the snow usually hangs around until May or June. I use my 4Runner mostly to drive up to the local ski resort. Use a 50-50 mix of antifreeze/water in the cooling system...

    22RE or 3.0 V6

I have a 4Runner with a 3.0 and a pickup with a 22RE. The RE is bombproof, economical and easy to work on. The 3.0 is most likely the least desirable Toyota engine ever made. While you only gain a few HP with the 3.0, you get a lot more torque than the 22RE. I've driven 4Runners with a 22RE that...

Power steering leak and A/C not working

The power steering pump on my 95 SR leaks as well. Looks like its coming from the bottom or back of the pump somewhere. I'll take it off and see if I can fix the leak, otherwise I'll get a reman pump for about $100. My A/C worked a short while ago, when I checked it this morning, the light...

    3VZE repair help question

How about buying a used engine on Craigslist or from a local engine rebuilder? Might cost you a little more at the front end, but you won't have to mess with it so much.

    power antenna

The antenna mast on my 95 4Runner is gone. The antenna motor still cranks every time I start the vehicle, so it still works. I'm trying to decide if I should get a new mast(which I've found at rockauto for about $21) or bail the electric antenna altogether and install a regular antenna.

New Toyo open country AT's on .

I just put Toyo Open Country A/T's on my 1995 4Runner. 265/75-R16 on 7" wide Tundra or Tacoma(not exactly sure) rims without any suspension mods. Look and ride sweet. New snow up on Mt. Hood so we'll be doing winter driving shortly.

    I want 16" rims!

I've got 16X7 Tundra rims on my 95 4Runner. Just put Toyo 265/75 R16 Open Country A/T tires on them.

    Brake problems

Push down hard on the brake pedal. If the brake pedal goes slowly to the floor, it is probably the master cylinder. If the brake pedal gets better as you pump it, it is most likely air or water in the brake lines or wheel cylinders. Replacing a master cylinder is not a tough job at all. You...

    Front Hub Noise

The boots look OK. I've also noticed a slight pulsation in the steering wheel when I brake, that may point to a wheel bearing or CV joint. This 4Runner is kind of a project vehicle, I need to take it apart and have a look at everything just to see what's up.

    Front Hub Noise

There are a couple helpful front end threads here recently, that information may come in handy very shortly. The left front hub on my 95 4Runner makes a "scraping" noise when I turn to the left, but only when the vehicle is in 4WD. I'll be having a look at it(when the rain lets up a little), any...

Havin some engine problems. . .

Check your coil wire and the ignition wires leading to the coil. Moisture in the wiring harness and connectors can cause the problems you are describing.

My 1995 3VZ with AC idles about 800-850 RPM. Idle speed is controlled by the vehicle's computer.

Spark Plug Wires and EGR Valve

I use a wire loom that attaches to the plug wires and that keeps it closer to the engine block and away from the EGR tube.
