Need help with rear diff stripped threads

Try to pry under the head of the bolt while slowly turning. A standard screwdriver tapped with a hammer can work.

Timing cover leak = first trip to dealer

I wouldnt say longevity issues as much as just normal risk when taking anything apart. They will never put a lackey on a job like that and most senior techs take pride in their work. If mine were under warranty I would do it. Mine are not and I wont pay for the fix due to the minor leak. You...

Timing cover leak = first trip to dealer

This is exactly why my 2016 ES 350 timing cover is still leaking, and when it gets too bad I will attempt to seal it from the outside. My 4Runner is not leaking, but if it were I would run it that way as well for a while and then attempt the exterior fix. Of coarse mine are not under warranty...

2014 Engine Toast - Rebuild vs Replace

It is an upgrade if done correctly. With the metal one you just tighten until it is snug and go. There are many reports of the plastic housing cracking and leaking, especially when letting a shop do your oil changes. I have been a mechanic for over 45 years and the T4R oil filter location...

Well I had the dealer do the 60k transmission svc..

My 2015 4Runner does not have a serviceable filter, only a metal screen. I only replaced it once (also cleaned pan and magnets) and now just do drain and fill. My Lexus ES 350 however does have a filter and I changed it at 60k. FWIW BG products are excellent and dealerships everywhere use them...

Transmission flush vs. transmission fluid drain and refill...

RPM's getting "stuck" at 2000? when you hit the brake to slow down or stop the RPM's jump to 3000? If true, this does not seem to be completely transmission related. Those issues just do not seem normal transmission fault symptoms, but as always I could be wrong. If those symptoms are as...

    Overfilled Diff Issue?

You are fine. If you were overfilled too much it would blow out of the vent (breather)

    Replacing Your Transmission Filter

I ordered mine and found out it was a metal screen (2015). The next time I drop the pan to clean it up I will not be changing the screen.

    Upgrading from a 2015 Limited to a 2023 GX460 Luxury

I own a 2015 Limited and I personally would not pay for the upgrade. Everything you mentioned is normal wear and tear. Mine has 85k and I do all of my own work. That being said, the GX is absolutely beautiful and I can definitely see wanting to upgrade. Good luck with your decision.

Looking at a 2024 trade in, take a chance or run away?

They would fix it prior to purchase if it were me and it just needs alignment. Was it a local trade or purchased at auction? The remaining warranty is a bonus for peace of mind.

Confused if I need to replace original tires on my 2019

No snow and ice for me but plenty of reviews (also on here) say they are very good.

Confused if I need to replace original tires on my 2019

https://www.michelinman.com/auto/tires/michelin-defender-ltx-m-s2 I now run the Michelin Defender LTX M/S 2. The last set was the LTX M/S. I also have a Limited and run the 275/55/20 on aftermarket wheels. The Michelins are quiet and balance out really well with a road force balance. I...

Confused if I need to replace original tires on my 2019

I do the same, especially on my wife's vehicle. Also, the difference in ride comfort and noise level is very noticeable. I changed to Michelin from the factory Yokohama's early and it was like driving a completely different truck.
