Anyone have an iDatalink Maestro installed?

Finally got around to completing this install. Was able to get OEM backup camera working, iDataLink didnt have the proper harness so I had to make my own . Illumination is OK now, I get proper dimming of the display when the lights are on. I did ground the brake cable, but the Pioneer...

Anyone have an iDatalink Maestro installed?

I got the Maestro working with HRN-HRR-T01 on a 2005 4runner limited with a Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX , with the exception of the backup camera, and the following connections: illumination, parking brake. The problem is that the harness HRN-HRR-T01 doesn't have plugs for the backup camera (4pin...

Anyone have an iDatalink Maestro installed?

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I too am considering the Maestro unit and have a 2005 4runner. I'm finding really sketchy info on the early 4th gens compatibility on this unit (2003-2005). Do you have backup camera working? And which harness (HRN-HRR-T01 or HRN-RR-T01) and unit (MRR or...

    Finally a 4th Gen-Specific Cargo Barrier

Apparently speski was bought by wits end, and they are no longer selling this product. Any new solutions for the 4th gen?

    Really, really weird misfire problem

You’re right but you’d be surprised it doesn’t take many revolutions to get back to the original section of the chain . Less than 20. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Really, really weird misfire problem

I dunno. Depending on the build date and mileage you probably know the head gasket issues these cars have. It’s unclear whether or not it’s been done for your car but I’ve read of cases where the owner machined they head because it over heated and or screwed it up on the way out. Engine never...

    Really, really weird misfire problem

If the links on the timing chain are stretched precisely at the cam position where those cylinders are involved in the timing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Really, really weird misfire problem

Ahh yeah sequential cylinders misfiring don’t make sense Perhaps it could be chain stretch? Either the timing chain or the cam chains. You can look down at the timing chain tensioner with just the passenger or right hand side valve cover off to see if it’s really extended. Sent from my...

    Really, really weird misfire problem

Not that I have a solution, but high rpms is when the vvti kicks in. No other codes? Did the heads ever have to come off for any reason? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    *** V6 Head Gasket Action Request ***

Get the gasket kit for like $200ish, it has all the gaskets you need (including both head gaskets). I didn’t need a new timing chain or cam shaft chains or timing guides or tensioners. I did replace my vbelt and water pump. And the pulleys for the v belt are easy enough to change at a later...

    Highest Mileage 4th Gen?

Like many things, it was a great time, but I wouldn’t want to do it everyday. Had to rip off the timing chain cover twice because I messed up the timing the first time.
