Highest Mileage 4th Gen?

Those of you with these super high mileage 4.7L V8s, what have you done (or not done) about the cracked manifolds? Has anyone passed 150k, 200k, 250k, etc, without the ticking sounds?

I wonder this too. My 2003 v8 ticks bad, and previous owner tried to weld fix it at 145k miles but that didn’t work. He then tried to replace it with a cheap aftermarket one which also failed. It’s at 173k now and it pisses me off so I just ordered Doug thorley king tubes and will he installing soon!

I've owned my 2004 for around 4 years now and looking at my VIN search details when I bought it there's no mention that the stock manifolds have ever been replaced and I have no ticking sounds at all, I have over 200,000 miles on it at present.

Not sure if climate has anything to do with the manifolds cracking but mine has been in the southeast USA it's entire life, mainly Florida, and then Georgia for a short time and now South Carolina.

4th gen

I recently had to fix the head gasket that finally went at 266,000 miles. Other than upgrading the suspension parts this 4 runner has been rock solid. Currently it is now my son's college car at 270k miles and drives and runs nearly as well as my wife's 2018 Trd 5th gen.

I wouldn't think so. Exhaust manifolds reach about 1000 degrees F. It's this heating up and cooling over and over again that develops the cracks. So if we're talking temps that high, I wouldn't think the starting temperature being 0 or 90 (cold or hot climate) would matter much.

She's a tank!

2005 with 230k on it! I just bought it though so can't say if it'll last much longer than it already has.
Just found a nice 2" x 1" rust hole in the frame... gonna have to get that fixed.

I just picked up this '04 SR5 V6 2wd last week. It's got 198k on and a stack of maintenance receipts an inch thick :) I've had to change the oil, spark plugs, and the hatch/hood shocks, but other than that everything's checked out great; even the diff oil looked recently changed.

I am loving how easy working on this thing is!

06 v6 sport

135k

I have changed front calipers and valve cover gasket (oil on spark plugs)
Had to remove catalytic converter cover as it was rattling
Also about every single interior bulb has died and needed to be replaced
Replaced passenger front headlight assembly as it was holding moisture

Previous owner had to replace 2 door lock actuators

update:

at around 140k now. Had to change a few more items.
-both front cv axels
-(did both front wheel bearings at the same time)
-muffler (rear pipe fell off)
-Rear calipers (siezed up while driving)
