The main under the hood fuse is a 7.5a ALT-S and the other in in the cab in dash 7.5a ECU-B

I ended up buying a new switch. I had to call the dealer as to the which fuse to check.

Hello, No the ECT won't turn on at all. That's why I was asking about the fuse location.

MattAK, Thanks for the illustration. As I pull everything apart tomorrow, I'm curios if a burned out bulb would enable the button and not let the ECT engage on the dash board..hmmmm we'll find out tomorrow.

Hello everyone, I have 99 4Runner 3.4. My ECT light just turned off. I suspect a blown fuse or a bad button. I always have my ECT engaged. I pulled a few bus fuses to see if anything blew but all were fine. If I have to replace the button, could someone please post a link to a write up to...

Get a Scan Gauge II for around $150 to see if its a Lead foot problem like me.. :) you will be able to see the load on your engine as well as Gas Mileage. I highly recommend one. It plugs right into your OBD plug.

Bad gas mieage Clean you MAF sensor. Its a easy thing to do, Just a can of CRC electric sprayer will do, Auto Zone or kragen or really any auto part store will have it. Give yourself and 1hr to accomplish it. I have it down to 30 minutes after doing it regulary., D-
