    WTB Oklahoma 3gen runner 4x4

Still loving my '99 v6 4x and my son's jeep is wearing out, so he's looking to buy. Within 50 miles of OKC would be good, but willing to drive to tulsa, etc for a clean 4x. He prefers a manual tranmission. pm me for my private email if you have one for sale, and we can do phone contact...

99 4x4 cold weather hard start

oh darn. Then we'll have to get it done. Taking it out is the worse part. So far it's been behaving, so we'll let it go as long as we can. thanks again for your tips. If we can find someone that can do it, we'll avoid the dealerships at all cost if we can.

that would be nice. My husband said you can get to those from under the car rather than pulling the whole thing out?

99 4x4 cold weather hard start

Re: Re: 99 4x4 cold weather hard start thx Kmvreter. It sounds like it could be the battery. I asked my husband if it could be the alternator isn't charging the battery, but he said he thought all electrical was working fine. I bought the runner used last year so I don't know the age of...

99 4x4 cold weather hard start

THANK YOU Lexusbstrdchild for that pictorial. I am very fond of my money, but my husband is 70 yrs old. I think with the pictorial my son can help him do it though. suprisingly, it's been acting fine for the past 2 days, so we have some time. The runner has about 128k miles. I'm saving...

99 4x4 cold weather hard start

I just found this info on replacing the starter. It sounds like it's really hard to get to. I think we may have to pay the $500 to toyota. crap. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=4182804&postcount=12

99 4x4 cold weather hard start

thx Lexusbstrdchild. That's what he was afraid of tight spaces. He may have that tool. We just bought the runner last year and need to pick up a chilton's for it. I'm not even sure where the starter is on the car, but my husband knows.

99 4x4 cold weather hard start

yeah I called a toyota dealer - it was around $250. for the starter and $200 installation. O'Reillys Auto Parts (like autozone) has it for $109. - lifetime warranty. We'll go with that. Anyone know how hard it is to get it off? Any special tools required?

99 4x4 cold weather hard start

My husband said he thinks it is the starter. He said he heard a scraping noise after starting it at a store like the starter was staying engaged. My next question is, how hard is it to get the starter on a 99 4x V6 auto? Any special tools required to get the bolts off? Any tutorials online...

99 4x4 cold weather hard start

just started acting up. The first turn it does one quick 'rrr'....next turn it starts up. Just started doing this when it started getting down in the 40's. Starter? Seems to run fine otherwise, but I'll ask my husband if there are any other symptoms. thanks!

disabling the rear window roll down key on the remote

It happens to me alot too. What a pita to come out from shopping and find your window down. Now I double, triple check the window after parking, because it gets me paranoid. I think I'm hitting the lock button on the remote with the clicker upside down and when I don't hear the beep, I...

    High mileage 99 Limited: reliability?

You have plenty of wiggle room with that dealer no matter where you are in the country. Like someone else said, look up the KBB and offer $100. over it. Most car dealership shoppers are tire kickers and have no desire to buy any car with that high mileage. Not that 170k for a toyota means...

Picked up those Bridgestone Revo's finally

LOVE them! As advertised, they are great in the rain. It took Firestone 2 tries to balance them right to get rid of the 55-70 vibration, but now they are so smooth. I thought we'd have to take them to a toyo dealer after reading threads here about 4 runners being touchy in the front end, but...

    I rearended someon today

bummer for both of you. I know what you mean about feeling bad about contributing to someone's bad day. Like Lee said, it happens to the best of us. Hope you don't have any hassles over it.

Picked up those Bridgestone Revo's finally

Very nice tires. Braking is much better than the worn out coopers that came on it (used) and the ride is secure and quiet. Got them at my local Firestone with lifetime bal/rotate for $661. drive out (8%) but Bridgestone is also running a rebate on them until May 21st (I think that's the date)=...
