    4th Gen Starter Issue

Yep...it was the starter. And it's a PITA to do on the V8 engine. Have to go underneath the intake manifold. I don't know if the water helped push it along or if it was already on it's way out. But after replacing it, no issue.

    Wilwood big brake kits

Whoa...someone throwing fuel on a fire that was JUST about dead. I agree with a LOT of people and their posts and their "science" behind brakes. We have some engineers here! Woohoo!!! But I can tell you, with how much weight I have on my 4Runner and I remember modulating my brakes coming down...

Steel City Racing: King of the Hammers 2019 Toyota 4Runner IFS 4600 Build Thread

Curious...are upgrading the brakes a no no in that class? I mean, why not run some Stoptechs? MUCH better braking power and modulation. Maybe Tom at SOS Performance could hook up a deal as a sponsor or something? One of the best upgrades I did on my 4R was Stoptechs.

Tore a cv boot wheeling today

I think you're overthinking it. Unless you're doing some serious rock crawling, rebooting your OEM's or buying NAPA Lifetime ones and rebooting the ones on there as spares is the way to go. Others have recommended CVJ...yes, they are OEM axles but they are refurbished. And, they have NO warranty...

Safari Snorkel confirms snorkel for 4th-gen coming

Not sure a dyno comparison would be all that beneficial. The ARB is quite bulkier so it may have more flow, however when you're driving there is a bit of a ram effect on the air going in. It would be VERY hard to do as you would essentially need to have one car and two different fenders with...

Safari Snorkel confirms snorkel for 4th-gen coming

Cool to see these FINALLY being made, but I already have an LC80 one on so I won't be getting one of these. It sure is bulky looking that's for sure. I would be curious to see pics of the hose that connects the airbox to the snorkel inside the fender liner. I had to custom make mine and it was a...

who here has bypassed the AIS system on their v8 toyota? Should I bypass mine??

So my question is...what happens if you don't turn the key right away with the Rutech? Will it damage the unit causing starting issues?

FS: 4 Used/1 New Nitto Ridge Grapplers 285/70/17 - Bay Area

Looking to get rid of my used 285/70/17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers and my one spare that is brand new. 4 are Load Range E and the spare is Load Range C. The used tires could go another 5-10K miles and the spare has never been used. Tires are in good condition but wouldn't recommend use in the wet so...

    FS: 4th Gen 4Runner Stock LCA's (Bay Area) $40

Trying to get rid of the stock front lower control arms. Figured maybe someone would want these if they want to swap the bushings and LBJ themselves rather than buying new and saving yourself the downtime. They are in good condition. $40obo

Secondary Air Injection Pump Failure on V8's! Important!

I don't know, but I believe I'm having issues with my Rutech as I've been hearing my pump kick on when I start the 4R lately. And here I thought the Rutech was supposed to completely keep it off when the 4R starts. I'm also wondering if it is linked to the starter in any way as I've been having...

    Power steering fluid??? 2004 V6

I'm getting ready to throw on a steering rack as I think mine is toast. How much does this system take? Is 1QT enough to do the whole system or should I buy two? Thanks and good info in this thread as I was going to use Toyota ATF since I have two extra quarts of it. Guess not now!
