You should definitely not be driving around all the time in L. Use D for regular driving and shift to L or 2L if you are driving slow and need extra power in rough conditions like snow etc.
So, a few days ago the starter was working again, but now it just cranks and doesn't start.
Could this be an issue connected to what items are turned on when the starter is used (ie. the A/C or the lights)?
I photoshopped a photo from Luxury's thread on his mods to change his grille guard to a black one.
This should give you an idea of what it would look like. I personally would like the black better than the chrome on my silver 4Runner, but on a black truck it might not look quite right.
I guess I'll get the Valor tip...I don't want the Walmart one to get rusty like this or worse, get so rusty I can't get it off.

Non-OEM Exhaust Tip
What does everyone think? (photo is from my phone, so quality is not great)
The exhaust tip was an impulse buy from Walmart. It is actually quite a nice item.
Here's a link to a website selling the identical item for almost twice what I paid at Walmart.

Where can I look in the engine bay to find the remote starter? I know the receiver is mounted on the windsheild behind the mirror, but I have no idea where to look to find the unit that actuates the starter motor.
The remote starter in my 03 4Runner worked fine for the first couple of days after the vehicle was delivered (I bought if used last week). Now when I push the remote button the engine cranks but does not start. The engine starts fine when I start it the normal way.
Any ideas what might be...
I have a similar but different situation...I bought an '03 V6 Limited with 14k miles on it and would also be interested in knowing what I can do to keep things running as usual.
You probably got a bumper part from a later model year when all the cladding was the same color as the car. From what I have seen, the '03 cladding is made from a grey plastic material that would not need painting,
