I have a 2000 and I thought the front diff was locked. I mean when I go around a corner in 4 wheel drive it shutters and jerks like both front tires are trying to turn exactly the same. I figured unlocking it would allow the inside tire or a turn rotate less than the outside but I don't get...

it has all the toys I want (mostly) and appears pretty clean. The add mentions it has an open front diff. Can someone school me as to why you would want it open for off road use?
