Well I will certainly try that when I have it off before changing it out then. Thanks for the advice. It has been acting weird for a while electrical wise this could be the whole trouble.
Well I'm just waiting on parts now. The ignition switch sends power to the fusebox and the fuse is good. No power to the control side of the starter relay so it has to be the neutral switch. Starter works when jumpered and the truck starts and runs when jumpered. Also I got a code when it was...
Well i have no power to the starter solenoid. So checked at the connection from the fuse box on the driver's side. No power there when the key is turned. So check behind the relay. No power there. The starter relay gets its power from the park neutral switch so now I need to check that. I think...
I am thinking that it is a problem with something running to the starter. I hear the relay working but no click on the starter. Could be corrosion from all the salt on the roads around here. Hopefully get a look at it tonight or tomorrow. Will get my DVOM out.
Just wondering if anyone has had the same problem as me before. I have a 99 4runner LTD with V6 and all the options that were available in 99. Its got 328000kms on it. I bought it at 300000kms. What is happening right now is when I turn the key nothing happens even when I have it charged up...
I just purchased the air lift 1000 kit for my 99 limited. I am towing a two horse trailer and it comes in around 6500 with the horses. It sags it down pretty good. Gonna get these installed in the next week or two and it should do the trick. Got the compressor as well.
I have used Walker before on my old truck which was an 82 Toyota pickup and on my dads 91 Toyota pickup and it worked fine on those. Not the stainless ones though. I chose it because it is stainless and is supposed to be quiet like stock. I don't like loud trucks. Had a 3 inch straight pipe off...
Its a Walker. I got it from Rock Auto. The local Canadian stores were almost double the price. Still haven't gotten it in. The starter was a pain. Starts great now though. Hopefully get the exhaust done this weekend. I will let you know how it sounds after. Was out of town for a week on training...
Got new quiet flow ss muffler to install tomorrow and starter contacts. Hasn't been starting well at all lately. Should be all fixed up by noon tomorrow. Gotta haul the horse to the barn in the afternoon with the truck. Be interesting to see of the new muffler sounds any different than the stock...
Do all the preventative maintenance. Check all fluids. Might as well drain and fill the diffs and t-case as well. Check all the brakes out and set up the drums if they are out. I bought a 99 limited auto 2 years ago for $5900 with 199k miles. Next to no rust. Front diff had no oil. That just...
I got these rotors Raybestos 96632R and these pads Raybestos ATD436AC (AT-D436AC). Got them from Rock Auto. They work well. I pull a two horse enclosed trailer with one horse and it has no problems stopping. Without trailer brakes. Haven't had warping problems yet at all. No noise either. Was...
We had a problem similar to this a few years back on my dads 91 with 3vze. I know its not the same motor. It would start when only 0f but when it got to -30 it would turn over fine but not fire. Turned out to be the o2 sensor. Same on my grandpa's 92. My 99 has no problem starting at -30 right...
I don't even want to check my mileage this tank. 135 miles and 1/4 tank left. -20 deg F temps and 1/4 of the miles were through 8 to 12 inches of snow in 4wd most the time was really bad.
