It doesn't have an odor just the dark color. Any ideas on what could be causing it have trouble shiftinh into drive when I start it up? The past two days I'll put in drive and when I press on the gas nothing happens and then it "pops" into gear. Thanks-

I checked around and I got quotes from $75-$108 plus tax. They stated that the 98 doesn't have a filter more of a metal screen and they would perform a transmission flush. Should I be prepared for any other possible problems. Thanks-

It was a dark red/ brown color and at the cold marking on the stick. From my reading I will at least need to change the transmission fluid but from the shifting problems I believe that more work may be needed.
