Can you help me figure out where this sound is coming from?

Thank you both for the suggestions. Exhaust heat shield was not on my guess list but I'll definitely check it out. I'm waiting for my new jack stands to arrive and then I'll be taking off the wheel to inspect farther as Bluesky 07 suggested. I will update back soon

Can you help me figure out where this sound is coming from?

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone can listen to this here and tell me what they think is causing the sound? (almost sounds like metal rubbing or grinding?) Sound clip here The sound is coming from the front side of the car (to me it sounds like it's from the passenger side) and seems to...

    Hawk 5.0 brake pads

Thanks for the share, I'm actually gathering info now to do the brakes on mine. Have you noticed a difference between slotted rotors and blank/oem rotors on the 4Runner? Or is it just a combo that worked great for you and you just decided to stick with it? Also do you happen to have the part...

    Fitment for V8 air box

Hi everyone, my 2006 v8 4runner needs a new airbox. The 4 metal clips that hold the lid shut were all broken when I bought it and the box was closed shot by one screw. My question is, does anyone know if the airbox in 03-05 4runner V8s or the 03-05 gx470 is the same as the 06-09 V8s? Thanks.

Reputable shop in or around Chicago? Power steering rack replacement

Not sure if this is the right forum to post for this question. I'm looking for recommendation on a reputable shop or mechanic near or around Chicago. Took my 06 V8 Sport for a power steering flush as it was making a whining noise when turning the wheels at low speeds. They found out that the...

Rear Sub Removal, Cutting The Plastic Grill?

I replaced my sub with the same one he is using and used his video for quick instructions. However, I chose not to cut the plastic grill and opted to do it the right way and take the whole panel off. I understand why some people would want to cut it. But overall the whole job did not take me...

    Berty's OEM+ Build Thread

Will be curious to see what you'll end up doing. My buddy and I found a shop near fox lake that is certified by fluid film. I think we're going to clean up the surface rust and pay them a 100 and have them spray it.

Thank you firebirdguy and Berty_K, I appreciate the info given. I'm definitely leaning towards using maxlife and will be picking some up next week after changing the timing belt and water pump at the dealer.
