Should I vinyl wrap my hood or not?

No to the wrap I would detach the hood from the vehicle, spread it out in grass over cardboard, use air compressor and spray gun to spray a close matching silver. Maybe not a perfect match but close enough. And practice some auto body painting. It's not going to be perfect. You are not...

haha yeah but i'm beginning to wonder how much of the original vehicle i will have left after i replace everything. LOL Are you the kind of guy that likes to keep trading in for newer vehicles? Or do you grow attachment to a vehicle and try to keep it running as long as possible? You're...

    Who’s towing?

I tow work trailers a lot. I tow dirt and mulch and rocks and debris. Over flat terrain it is well. My back springs sag so much now i had to study the Suspension Lift knowledge FAQ thread. So add new heavy duty rear coils and shock absorbers. $500-$700 for parts. Plus 4-8 hours of your...

Documenting My Overheating, Head Gasket, Cracked Head Problem on 5VZ-FE DIY

Sorry for the late update It took me about one week to take it all apart and one week to get everything back together. If I had indoor air conditioned weather proof garage then I could have shaved off 2-3 days. I got everything running. :guitar2: The cheap new cylinder heads I bought off eBay...

Can I drive without AC belt?

Yes. Jiggle valve down. Thanks to this forum I knew to do that. Now that you mention it, I'll check the radiator a few times to see if I can get the rest of that jug in there now that it's cycled through a few times driving. I also suspect that after 5+ years the antifreeze starts to lose...

Can I drive without AC belt?

Good news guys. I fixed it! I'm not sure exactly what fixed it, but I did 3 things. Replaced radiator cap, which alone did not fix it. However, the old cap did have a piece missing from the bottom. Whether or not this was preventing a good seal, I am not sure. Secondly, I replaced the...

Can I drive without AC belt?

Yeah. Fan clutch seems good. I'm thinking it has to be a clogged radiator that's not circulating well, or a bad water pump. However, I read that if I have the high heat on and it is indeed blowing hot heat (very hot when temp gauge starts to go up past half point), that the water pump is...

Can I drive without AC belt?

Ughhh.....Thermostat didn't fix problem. Anything else to check before I start researching which water pump and timing belt to buy and carve out an entire weekend to do it?

Can I drive without AC belt?

There was definitely something wrong with the underside of my radiator cap. I'd take a picture and show you but my phone is broken (it's been a bad week). Unfortunately, replacing it did not solve the problem. I will try thermostat next. I have a bad feeling it might be the water pump.

Can I drive without AC belt?

Thank you for the response. The belt closest to the engine powers the alternator. I replaced that last year. The middle belt is for the AC. That's the one that broke off. The one closest to the radiator powers the power steering. I'm pretty sure that radiator fluid spilled out and splashed...

When to start using Synthetic Oil: From Toyota

I put synthetic oil in a 1999 4runner and developed a slow leak soon after. It possibly could not be related, but I correlate the leak and change in type of oil. I think I would stick to a blend or conventional. A buddy of mine had a newer toyota truck (a 2012 model?) and he tried putting...
