I was definitely going OEM and 8 new mounting bolts as well. I suppose I will re use that cover, downside is that you cannot tell the condition of the rubber boot with it in place

My previous 97 4R had the same exact issue, a melted 3rd brake light bulb. I replaced it and it was fine from then on. Never did figure out the reason it ended up that way, but no continuing issues.

it sits an inch or so higher in the rear currently, unloaded. I dont haul much in the way of weight so this is acceptable to me.

I put the 906 rear springs on my saggy 02 and love how it sits and how it rides. Also changed the rear shocks to Bilstein 5100's and they seem to match perfectly with the 906's.

You want your sway bar to remain parallel to the ground. So with a lift and stock end links it will cause your sway bar to angle down. You then need to extend the end links to get the sway bar back to parallel.
